Headquarters Expansion

Leeds, West Yorkshire

A significant expansion to an electrical distribution company headquarters building in Leeds, West Yorkshire.

Wildblood Macdonald are pleased to enjoy a long standing relationship with electrical distribution firm Scattergood and Johnson. Planning permission was granted in 2016 for a significant expansion of the Leeds headquarters building. It will provide the much needed space to restore an appropriate working environment and to improve the welfare provision for the staff to contemporary levels. It will provide expansion space for the future business and allow the development of additional training and research areas of this electrical, electronic and hydraulic design and supply business.

Visually the appearance of the frontage clearly indicates the main entrance to the offices and make a clear contrast to the trade counter entrance, (a secondary but important feature of the building). The main offices entrance is central to the completed development and coincides with the joint between the existing building and the new.

This glazed feature represents the entrance to a ‘street’ passageway between the two building parts, old and new, with a main structural frame colonnade to each side and roof lighting from above through the warehouse.

The overall project covers almost 40,000 sq ft of additional accommodation, including over 13,000 sq ft of office space.
