The Old Manor House

Harrogate, North Yorkshire

This beautiful period property sits at the heart of a rural village on the edge of Harrogate in North Yorkshire. Originally built in 1853, the property was acquired by our client needing a fair amount of modernisation and essential repair. We were asked to carry out extensive internal remodeling of the property and to investigate possible options to extend the ground floor accommodation in order to provide kitchen and living facilities that would be suitable for a large family home.

The upgrading of the property was broken into a number of phases. An initial phase of work encompassed only essential repairs and renovation while plans for the rest of the building could be properly resolved.

Phase one included the complete renewal of the main house roof, utilizing existing slates where possible. The second phase of work included not only internal remodelling and upgrading to a high specification but also extensive external alterations to provide a formal entrance to the property and significant upgrading of the landscaping. The addition of a ground floor extension housing a magnificent kitchen and family living space provided additional contemporary accommodation with expansive views out over the grounds.
