Claro Road

Claro Road, Harrogate, North Yorkshire

With outline permission already established on the site for a lower density scheme, Wildblood Macdonald were approached by Redrow Homes to maximise the potential number of units on this site in Harrogate, North Yorkshire. Due to the sensitive location of the site, careful negotiation and dialogue with the planning department were essential to the ultimate success and positive outcome of the application.

The detailed scheme was secured on behalf of Redrow Homes to develop the site following Harrogate RUFC's relocation from this site to a new ground. Following advice received from the planning department, changes were made to the scheme resulting in the proposed development being voted through unanimously by the planning committee.

Sensitive proposals for 126 new homes on the site were designed around a central boulevard arrangement leading to a wildlife meadow and area of public open space. The site sits adjacent to the popular Stray area of the historic town, itself providing over 200 acres of open grassland and verges for public use.
